A week of big 'events'
There is a LOT going on at the moment. Exam results, chat about schools opening, recession and SO much doom and gloom. For the live events industry this has been a tough week. And it feels like a big week. The first industry to ‘close’ and the last to reopen, events, and the industry as a whole (which consists of SO much from festivals, theatre and entertainment, live music, business conferences, weddings, sporting events, exhibitions and so much more) has been hit HARD. It’s no secret.
While times ARE tough, our team are SO determined and passionate about what we do. This WILL be alright, things will come back, and when the do, we’ll come back stronger. Why? Because the events industry is full of passionate, skilled, creative go getters. We build our own events, create our own concepts, and help our clients do the same at varying levels so we're in this for the long term. This is an unprecedented smack in the face that no one knew was coming and absolutely no one knows when it will end; that's the weird one to deal with as we're a group of planners, who just can't plan.
At S3K Group HQ we can’t tell you what we’re working on quite yet, but we have a plan and some real focus. It’s going to be gritty to get there, but we’ll get there. It's been an odd week, but we're so energised so we just wanted to put a positive word or two out there.
To all of our wonderful network of freelancers, suppliers, event owners, creatives and clients, we are with you. #WeMakeEvents and as the campaign illustrated, we are a creative, unique, hardworking, doggedly determined sector of hugely talented (and hugely varied individuals). Keep smiling, be kind and when it comes back, there'll be some pretty great parties needed! That's for sure.
